“I can hear you. The rest of the world hears you!”

by domvirgilio

“I can hear you.  The rest of the world hears you!  And the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon.”

Regardless of your political affiliation, the “USA! USA!” chants during the “Bullhorn Speech” should stir pride in your heart.   The men and women that worked day and night at Ground Zero are heroes.

I was born and raised in New York, have family that are volunteer firemen, and have friends that witnessed the World Trade Center tragedy first-hand.  I have heard very personal stories – of the smoke and dust and fear and panic…. but, also the kindness and courage and patriotism and sense of duty.  Do not forget the lives lost.  Do not forget the family members.  Do not forget those that made enormous sacrifices during the recovery effort.  And, do not forget those in our military that protect our way of life each and every day.

Take a moment to remember what it means to be an American and watch again the September 14, 2001 “Bullhorn Speech” from Ground Zero.  The spirit of the men and women at the scene is undeniable.  Their passion and courage and the passion and courage of the Navy SEALs who did their job for their Country yesterday will not be forgotten:

“Thank you for your hard work.  Thank you for making the nation proud.  And, may God Bless America.”
